Volunteer

GIVE HOUSE TOURS, TEND THE GARDEN, OR BOTH.

We depend on our volunteers to help us share Welty’s literary legacy, encourage a love of reading, develop an appreciation for the arts, and inspire the creative endeavors of future artists and writers.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

House Tour Docents 
Give tours of the Welty House, sharing the highlights of Welty’s life with groups of up to 13 people. Requires docent training and at least one shift per month.


Garden Volunteers 
Work in the Welty garden on First Wednesday mornings with the “Cereus Weeders,” named in honor of Eudora Welty’s Night Blooming Cereus Club. All skill levels are welcome—no gardening experience required to begin.
