Starting July 26, we will be reading poetry and prose by Natasha Trethewey, former Mississippi and US Poet Laureate. Trethewey writes the forewords to the most recent editions of EUDORA WELTY PHOTOGRAPHS and ONE WRITER'S BEGINNINGS.

Michael Pickard will be leading our discussions of MONUMENT. In addition to being a poet himself, he is the E.B. Stewart Family Professor of English Language and Literature and Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing at Millsaps College. Suzanne Marrs, Millsaps Professor Emerita and Welty's friend and biographer, will continue our discussions on Trethewey's memoir MEMORIAL DRIVE.

Natasha Trethewey will be joining us for a reading and Q&A on Monday, September 6! This special session of the book club is supported by the Eudora Welty Foundation.
