Bring your brood and join us for a morning of birds, books, and button-making on Saturday, January 15 at 10 a.m. Eudora Welty House & Garden education specialist Jennifer Rose will read excerpts from Eudora Welty's only children's book, The Shoe Bird. Young participants will discuss the colorful characters and comic plot before engaging in a creative activity writing quips from the story and coloring pictures of birds and shoes. Finally, they will get to assemble their own metal pin-on Shoe Bird Buttons to take home and wear. This event is free and open to the public. No registration required!
